About Me

About Me

Hi.  I’m Jeny De Figueiredo.

I am a baby data science nerd.  Wife.  Mom.  Former Olympian.  Former lots of things related to visual storytelling.  Making people understand through various forms of visual communication has always lit my fire.

I am also a person with endless curiosity, yearning to understand why humans do the things they do, how that contributes to what’s happening in the world and to find solutions to problems.  A bit of an info-hoarder, I’ve always kept files, random scraps of paper, notebooks of ideas, a second brain in Notion, and a running list of items in my phone that I’m interested in studying along these lines.  This blog will help me hone my data science skills while chipping away at the list…

I completed the Microsoft Professional Program in Data Science in April 2019 as well as certifications in Power BI and Tableau.  I’ve been the Community Manager for DVC (Data Version Control) for the past three and half years. For the past five years I’ve supported the Data Science community in Seattle through my volunteer work for Data Circles, the WIDS Puget Sound Conference, and now as Board member for Diversity in Data Science.
